The AIMS Board is responsible for ensuring that the academic program of AIMS is successful, that the school's program and operation are faithful to the terms of its charter, and that the school is a viable organization.
The qualifications for Directors are generally the ability to attend board meetings, a willingness to actively support and promote the corporation and a dedication to its charitable endeavors. The proven ability to raise sizable donations on behalf of a non-profit organization. The evidence of a lack of conflict of interest between the authorizing board, county board, and/or state board, any other entity doing business with AIMS, or any other organization that has an actual or potential financial interest with AIMS. Any waiver of this clause is subject to a waiver of the board and all applicable laws, including but not limited to “the Brown Act” Cal. Gov. Code. § 54950 et seq.

Chris Edington
President
Director Christopher Edington is a “hands-on” solutions-oriented professional with 20 years of functional domain expertise in analytics, project management; as well as a progressive career record that spans a full range of information technology operations and application development for multimillion-dollar projects in government, health care, financial services, and utility industries. In addition, Chris has an extensive background integrating new systems into large-scale informational technology infrastructure using Waterfall and Agile methodologies; and has a proven record of developing, implementing, and integrating cost-saving business solutions and applications across multiple platforms, and environments. Chris is a University of California, Berkeley graduate and a Certified Professional Consultant. In addition, Chris is a Member, Professional and Technical Consultants Association, Project Management Professional, and Project Management Institute. Chris joined the AIMS Board in 2016 and in 2017, President Leung appointed him Chairperson of the Board’s Finance Committee.
Steven Leung

Director Steven Leung, is President of Outstanding Investment Company, Incorporated, which has provided outstanding property management and investment services for more than 14 years to buyers and sellers in the greater San Francisco Bay area. Steven previously served as Vice President of Sales for Quality Green Building Supplies. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business and Finance. Steven joined the American Indian Model Schools (AIMS) board in 2012; and currently serves as Vice President. He brings years of experience in financial management and investment. During Steven’s service as President of the AIMS Board of Directors, he devoted countless hours to the restoration of public and parental trust in the AIMS organization’s educational mission and goal. As a result, he was awarded a Board Resolution of Commendation for his outstanding service.
Jumoke Hinton
Jumoke is the Director of Bay Area Local Advocacy. She supports the execution of advocacy priorities in Oakland and Contra Costa County and serves as one of the faces of CCSA with our members and community alike. Jumoke has over a decade of experience as a school board member, community activist and charter ally.
Jaime Colly, Ed.D
Dr. Colly serves as the Vice President, Northern California, Local Advocacy. She leads the team in execution of advocacy priorities in Northern California and serves as the face of CCSA with coalition partners, elected leaders and charter members. She works in collaboration to support our member schools through renewals, new school authorization, AB1505 implementation at districts and counties and local elections work. She will be instrumental in building additional partnerships across the region for the benefit of all students.
Dr. Colly has more than a decade of teaching, curriculum design and implementation, and school administrative experience including serving as Director of the San Francisco Teacher Residency at the University of San Francisco in partnership with SFUSD and Stanford University. She also served as the Principal at Livermore Valley Charter School and prior to that, led teacher support work for Teach for America in the Bay Area. When she is not out fighting the good fight, she loves spending time with her family and traveling near and far.
Alisa Stanley
Director Alisa Stanley is a distinguished Compliance and Governance Manager with a robust academic foundation in psychology and education. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Education, which have equipped her with a unique perspective on the regulatory needs of educational institutions. With a decade of experience in both independent and charter schools, Alisa has a proven track record in policy development, compliance auditing, and risk management.
Alisa is actively involved in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and serves on a DEI committee, where she champions inclusive policies and practices. Her commitment to DEI work underscores her dedication to fostering equitable environments within educational settings.
In her previous role as Director of Operations, Alisa significantly enhanced operational efficiency and nurtured a culture of continuous improvement. Her dedication to ethical governance and strategic leadership makes her an invaluable asset to any board of directors. Alisa is also committed to furthering her expertise through the pursuit of an EdD in Organizational Change.
Megan Sweet
Dr. Megan Sweet is a career educator who left her work in school districts to dedicate herself to fixing the broken education system.
For too long, we have undervalued educators. The pandemic has brought to light the hard work of leading schools and the value that teachers provide to their students and their classrooms. Change is possible if we invest in our educators and in our school communities.
