About AIMS College Prep K-8

AIMS College Prep K-8 now serves over 620 inner-city students from grades K–8. The focus of AIMS K-8 has been excellent student attendance (99.5%), which helps ensure the academic needs of our students. Our students have exceeded the standards set forth by the No Child Left Behind Act each year with Math and ELA assessment scores higher than both Oakland's and California's averages. They attained the CAPP Award for innovative practices during the pandemic. AIMS K-8 received the CA Distinguished School Award for excellent academics and for closing the achievement gap. Demographically, 60% of AIMS Elementary students qualify for free and reduced lunch, 99% are minorities, and 75% speak English as a second language.
