Public Records Requests

Under the California Public Records Act (California Government Code § 7920.000 et seq.), members of the public may request access to public records maintained by AIMS K-12 College Prep Charter District.

Upon receiving a request for public records, AIMS will determine within 10 calendar days whether the request seeks copies of disclosable public records in AIMS' possession and will promptly notify the requester of that determination. In certain circumstances permitted by law, this initial determination period may be extended. Responsive, non-exempt records will be made available within a reasonable period of time based on the scope and complexity of the request.

Certain records or portions of records may be exempt from disclosure under state or federal law. These may include, but are not limited to, student records and personally identifiable student information, certain personnel records, attorney-client privileged communications, records related to pending litigation, certain collective bargaining or negotiation information, preliminary drafts under applicable circumstances, and records protected by other statutory exemptions or privileges. When appropriate, AIMS will redact exempt information and disclose the remaining portions of a record as required by law.
