Here is the presentation for the initial hearing outlining OUSD's complaints and the AIMS response, which provides a comprehensive overview of our position and commitment to delivering quality education.

 

AIMS Board President, Director Edington, and Superintendent Woods-Cadiz sent letters to OUSD Board members addressing each claim in the Notices of Concern. Director Edington highlighted AIMS’ willingness to develop a Corrective Action Plan and collaborate with OUSD to address concerns. He also emphasized that AIMS students, including typically underserved populations, consistently outperform OUSD, state averages, and other charter schools that were renewed, showcasing the strength and success of AIMS’ academic programs.

 

Superintendent Woods-Cadiz also submitted a response to OUSD, addressing claims that AIPCS II is not serving all pupils who wish to attend and is unlikely to implement the proposed program due to governance concerns. She highlighted AIMS’ enrollment data, which reflects a commitment to inclusivity, and emphasized the significant improvements made in Special Education services. Her response underscored the progress and accountability measures AIMS has implemented to meet the needs of all students.

American Indian Public Charter II (AIPCS II), also known as AIMS K-8, is currently up for Charter Renewal. The California Department of Education mandates charter schools to renew every 5-7 years, allowing them to continue operating. AIPCS II renewal is crucial to ensure we can continue serving our community and providing excellent education. We need your support!
