Welcome message from the Head of High School

Dear AIMS High School Families and Students,

I hope you all enjoyed a restful break with your loved ones. I’m writing to share an important update about our school leadership.

I am honored to step into the role of Head of School for AIMS High School. AIMS has been my home for the past six school years, and I am deeply committed to the success and well-being of every student in our community. During my time here, I have served as the High School Head of Academics, Special Education Manager, and last school year, Director of Schools, where I supported three campuses, over 1,200 students, and our successful K–8 charter renewal.

Across all my roles, one belief has guided my work: students thrive when a school community is united, supported, and focused on strong relationships and clear communication. My goal is to build a safe, joyful, and high-expectation learning environment where every student can grow. Being bilingual in English and Chinese has helped me connect with many families, and my background in both general and special education allows me to advocate for students with diverse needs.

Additionally, I am excited to be working alongside Mrs. Brenda Nixon in her new role as Assistant Head of School. Mrs. Nixon brings deep commitment, experience, and a strong connection to our community, and I know her leadership will be invaluable as we move forward together.

I know transitions can bring questions, and I want you to know that I am here to listen and support you. Our students deserve the very best, and I am committed to ensuring a stable and successful path forward.

Thank you for your partnership and trust. I look forward to connecting with you soon and celebrating all the incredible things our students will accomplish this year.

With appreciation,

Julia Li
